Skw'akw'as Dunstan-Moore

Skw'akw'as (Sunshine) Dunstan-Moore (She/Her) is of Nlakapamux, Stl'atl'imx, Yakama, and Irish descent. She is a youth from Tlekemstin, also known as Lytton, British Columbia. Skw'akw'as translates to Sunshine in nɬeʔkepmxcín and proudly uses both names.
Skw'akw'as was a member of Environment and Climate Change Canada's Ministerial Youth Council and chaired it in its first year. She represented the council at COP28 in Sharm El Sheik and the First Nations—Canada Joint Committee on Climate Action. She is a member of the Youth Advisory Group with the Canadian Commission of UNESCO and sits on the UN International Decade of Indigenous Languages & Land-Based Education expert working groups.
In the summer of 2024, she completed a Parliamentary Internship with Environmental Leadership Canada. During this internship, she spent the first part working in the
